Description

Refined and Reclaimed

The Fire & Hide Post Bag is handcrafted using the finest rescued leather accentuated by our signature decommissioned fire-hose and finished with a reclaimed parachute silk lining. An elegant bag, perfect for day or night use. It is designed to be held in the hand, it also comes with a detachable shoulder strap for those that prefer, letting you easily transition from classic use to a contemporary crossbody.

What can you fit in there?

This is what Kresse carries: Phone, purse, book, keys, loose change, business cards, rail card, and refillable water bottle...

The Fire & Hide Post Bag is crafted through a transformation of leather fragments from the production of Burberry leather goods. Our craftsmen individually cut and hand weave, piece by piece, these otherwise lost scraps of leather into whole new hides. The Fire & Hide Collection is the sumptuous blend of our signature fire-hose and rescued leather. The limited nature of our rescued materials means we can only ever create a few pieces in each variation. You can learn more about our leather partnership here.

We are excited to be able to offer so many variations of the Post Bag. Every option includes handles and trim in Elvis & Kresse's signature decommissioned fire-hose, which was previously deployed in active duty for up to 25 years, fighting fires around the UK.

THE FIRE & HIDE COLLECTION

In 2005 we fell in love with London's decommissioned fire-hose. Determined to save it from landfill we took this lifesaving material home, gave it a second chance, and vowed to donate 50% of the profits to the Fire Fighters Charity. But fire-hose was just the beginning.

Every year, 800,000 tonnes of leather ends up on the cutting room floor. Our leather partners cherish their hides, but no matter how carefully they cut their patterns, there will always be small seemingly unusable offcuts. To rescue this leather we developed a unique modular approach. We hand weave these fragments into whole new hides then lovingly recraft them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Our commitment to rescuing British fire-hoses remains the same, the trim, handles and internal detailing of the Fire & Hide range are all made from genuine decommissioned fire-hose. And we continue to donate 50% of profits to charity.

Our Fire & Hide Collection represents a whole new kind of luxury. One that is sustainable, ethical, transparent, generous and kind.

50% of profits donated

Since 2005 we have been rescuing seemingly useless materials and lovingly handcrafting them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Every year since, Elvis & Kresse have donated 50% of the profits to charities related to those raw materials. 50% of the profits from the Fire & Hide Collection are donated to Barefoot College International and The Fire Fighters Charity.

Testimonials

After some debate over the relevant bag to buy ( I chose the small post bag. The main reason for this was that I'd wanted to downsize from my 'day' bag, which I could never find anything in - I don't know how Mary Poppins managed, but everything disappears when I put it in a bag! When it arrived, even though it looked good, I wasn't totally convinced I'd made the right choice as it really is quite small. Immediately, when I started using it, I realised that it is perfectly big enough for an outing where you only really need to carry a phone, purse, keys and carrier bag.

I would like to say that I think your products are fantastic. I have been looking for something different for my wife for xmas and your sustainable products stood out from the crowd!

I previously worked for a luxury brand, initially with a team that designed small leather goods and what you are doing is really cool…..
