A light in the Storm

The Elvis & Kresse Solid Brass Candlestick Holders are made from genuine decommissioned fire-hose couplings. These extremely rare pieces are a limited edition. This is the first time we have ever had brass couplings and it well may be that we will never have these again. These particular couplings came to us from hoses that we rescued from an off-shore oil rig that was being decommissioned. The reason the more traditional lighter aluminium couplings can't be used on oil rigs is the risk that comes from aluminium striking steel and producing sparks. Although much heavier, brass couplings are the safest option in such a high risk environment... and when restored it is also absolutely beautiful.

The 35mm and 55mm diameter candlestick sets comprise of 2 candlestick holders (the male and female matched couplings). The set is completed with fire-hose Coasters to rest the holders on and a set of candles.

Previously used to fight fires at sea, these limited couplings are lovingly hand restored by Elvis in our workshop in Kent. We only have 100 of these, which makes them a wonderful statement piece for your home or as memorable gifts.

The Fire-hose Collection

We fell in love with London's decommissioned fire-hose back in 2005 through a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade. We took this lifesaving material home determined to breathe new life into it and save it from its otherwise inevitable end in landfill, and vowed to donate 50% of our profits to charity.

For over a decade we have been rescuing all of London's retired fire-hose by lovingly handcrafting them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Every year since, Elvis & Kresse have donated 50% of the profits from the Fire-hose Collection to The Fire Fighters Charity. This heroic material, once used to save lives, gets a second chance to keep giving back.

Our Fire-hose pieces are more than just a collection, they represent a whole new kind of luxury. One that is sustainable, ethical, transparent, generous and kind.
