Description

A weekend away

The Elvis & Kresse Weekend Bag is handmade from genuine decommissioned fire-hose and the lining is made from material rescued from Burberry's Yorkshire workshop and reclaimed military-grade parachute silk. A few select pieces will come with lining made from auction banners that we save from landfill. Each weekend bag is totally unique, no two Elvis & Kresse pieces are ever the same.

Previously deployed in active duty for up to 25 years, fighting fires around the UK, the hard-wearing hose is perfectly suited for your travels. The wide mouth opening of our holdall makes packing, unpacking and searching very easy and the generous sizing means you can take everything you need for a weekend away. The weekend bag has an easy access external pocket, an internal zip pocket and 3 further internal poacher-style pockets.

Our fire-hose Weekend Bag is now recognised as a true icon, one of these pieces in red hose is now part of the permanent collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A).

Available in red or yellow hose or black printing blanket. Please note, all hoses are unique, which means your piece is too! If you would like more or less markings, or writing, just drop us an email or include a note in your order.

THE FIRE-HOSE COLLECTION

We fell in love with London's decommissioned fire-hose back in 2005 through a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade. We took this lifesaving material home determined to breathe new life into it and save it from its otherwise inevitable end in landfill.

Our Fire-hose pieces are more than just a collection, they represents a whole new kind of luxury. One that is sustainable, ethical, transparent, generous and kind.

Printing Blanket Range

We also offer a Printing Blanket version of our classic pieces. They are made from reclaimed printing blankets, rescued from the printing industry, and combined with our signature decommissioned fire-hose. The re-engineered black printing blanket creates a visually stunning textile that is strong and beautiful to the touch. This version maintains all the design features of the full fire-hose versions.

50% of profits donated

Since 2005 we have been rescuing all of London's retired fire-hose by lovingly handcrafting them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Every year since, Elvis & Kresse have donated 50% of the profits from the Fire-hose Collection to The Fire Fighters Charity. This heroic material, once used to save lives, gets a second chance to keep giving back.

Testimonials

I work for the fire service and have been for 32 years, I am now a training instructor and I am responsible for new recruit training and water rescue. In the recent years I have collected a wallet and a belt as a gift from new recruits and at Christmas I purchased a weekend bag for my partner, the products you provide are second to none and it is a great honour to own some of them.

Mike

Just wanted to say I love the designs and the material you use, especially the black weekend bag I purchased a few months ago!
