The Elvis & Kresse Post bag is made from genuine decommissioned fire-hose previously deployed in active duty for up to 25 years, fighting fires around the UK. A fun, sustainable handbag, perfect for day or night use, it is designed to be held in the hand, but it also has a detachable shoulder strap included for those that prefer, letting you easily transition from classic use to a contemporary crossbody. The ethically made handbag has an inside zip pocket and a reclaimed parachute silk lining.
This is what Kresse carries: Phone, purse, book, keys, loose change, business cards, rail card, and refillable water bottle...
We are excited to be able to offer so many variations of the eco-friendly handbag. Every option includes handles and trim in Elvis & Kresse's signature decommissioned fire-hose, which was previously deployed in active duty for up to 25 years, fighting fires around the UK.
How to choose? There is our Classic Red, our Rare Yellow, and a Print Room edition, where the main body of the bag is made with re-engineered printing blanket. This matt black textile is strong and beautiful to the touch.
This piece is also available in Fire & Hide. What is that? The Fire, is our signature, decommissioned British fire-hose. The Hide is a transformation of fragments from the production of Burberry leather goods into luxurious components that we hand weave, piece by piece, into whole new hides. The Fire & Hide collection is the sumptuous blend of these two rescued materials. You can learn more about our leather partnership here.

We fell in love with London's decommissioned fire-hose back in 2005 through a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade. We took this lifesaving material home determined to breathe new life into it and save it from its otherwise inevitable end in landfill.
Our Fire-hose pieces are more than just a collection, they represents a whole new kind of luxury. One that is sustainable, ethical, transparent, generous and kind.
We also offer a Printing Blanket version of our classic pieces. They are made from reclaimed printing blankets, rescued from the printing industry, and combined with our signature decommissioned fire-hose. The re-engineered black printing blanket creates a visually stunning textile that is strong and beautiful to the touch. This version maintains all the design features of the full fire-hose versions.
Since 2005 we have been rescuing all of London's retired fire-hose by lovingly handcrafting them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Every year since, Elvis & Kresse have donated 50% of the profits from the Fire-hose Collection to The Fire Fighters Charity. This heroic material, once used to save lives, gets a second chance to keep giving back.
I bought a small postbag in yellow, plus a matching yellow belt. They arrived very promptly - thank you, and I absolutely love them, particularly the bag, which is so cute, really neat, well -designed and a joy to carry on the arm. Very eye-catching. The feature stitching on it is great, and the two tones of yellow give a bright and cheerful contrast to virtually any other colour. Everyone is really intrigued when I tell them what it is made of. I am really looking forward to giving it plenty of outings this year.

just to say I ordered your bag a few months ago (Small and I am thrilled with it. I just wanted to share with you my personal take on why I'm so glad I found your brand....
After many years of buying luxury brands then being too scared to use them on a daily basis (I currently have a Hermes Birkin and Kelly languishing in my closet because I always worry when taking them out they will get coffee spilt on them/end up in a downpour, etc). I love handmade, artisan items but am slowly realising that as well as the environmental impact of creating a lot of these big profile designer bags, owning them comes with a certain degree worry for me.
I started searching for a non leather, classic bag that would meet my daily needs but still be stylish. After looking at lots of vegan leather bags online that were lovely, but too "fashion" for my taste with lots of hardware/plaques/detailing etc I discovered your brand through a google search.
I immediately loved the products, and have a particular emotional attachment to the products you are using: between 2004-2007 I was a local councillor, and part of my role entailed sitting on the panel of West Midlands Fire Service. The role was absolutely fascinating, detailed and challenging but ever since then I have always been very grateful and in awe of the work the Fire Service do.
So as I type my Small Post bag is sitting on my lap, many thanks for the fabulous care, attention and love that you so obviously put into your products.
