Each year, 800,000 tonnes of leather are destined for landfill. We rescue small, seemingly unusable, pieces that have fallen on the cutting room floor and transform them into entirely new leather bags and accessories. We do not produce seasonal collections, because 'seasons' fuel overconsumption and because our colours depend entirely on the leather offcuts we receive. We take great pride in knowing every piece we make is unique. 50% of the profits from our rescued leather are donated to Barefoot College International, funding scholarships for women to train as solar engineers.
We rescue leather from some of the world’s best brands, including Burberry. We collect their off-cuts, the tiny remnants that they can’t use, and transform these into new pieces. Our process involves starting with these small pieces, then hand-cutting and weaving them together into whole new hides. We combine the rescued leather with our signature rescued fire-hose; once used to save lives, it now serves a new innovative purpose in fashion, providing an eco-friendly alternative without sacrificing quality or aesthetics.
Every purchase from our leather bags collection contributes to the charities we support. Specifically, we work with Barefoot College International. Our donations create scholarships for women with no previous access to education to train as solar engineers. By choosing Elvis & Kresse, you're opting for a product that looks good, feels good, and does good.
